Veterans’ Services
PA CareerLink® offices provide free employment and training services to assist Veterans in finding jobs. These services include job search planning, identifying transferable skills, resume assistance, job counseling, interview preparation, training referrals, and placement services.
Our Career Resource Centers display information on job fairs, on-site recruitments, apprenticeship and on-the-job training opportunities and labor market tools. We are also an access point to contact the Unemployment Compensation office.
Eligible Veterans are given priority of service for all PA CareerLink® programs and resources.
All PA CareerLink® staff members serve eligible veterans by providing assessment interviews, workshops, job referrals, and access to training opportunities. We can make referrals to employers, various Veterans Services Organizations, Community Partners, Veterans Administration and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as needed.
Veterans with significant barriers to employment* may be eligible to work with our Veterans Employment Representatives for assistance to reduce or eliminate those barriers. They are veterans themselves, trained to meet your specific needs and connect you to appropriate employers and resources in our community.
*Barriers to employment may apply to Veterans who are: VA service-connected, economically disadvantaged, recently separated or transitioning, ex-offenders, homeless, etc.
Access to Training
Individuals and employers may be eligible for training funds, including classroom training, on the job training, and registered apprenticeships. Please contact your local PA CareerLink® office or affiliate for further details about the requirements or attend one of our WIOA Information Sessions.
